What is a BBA?

There are a lot of business degree options out there. One of them you may know is a BBA, or a Bachelor of Business Administration. Texas Wesleyan offers a Bachelor of Business Administration in general business. But what does that mean?

By earning your BBA, you’ll get a broad overview of the business landscape. The Introduction to Business course will guide you through the basics of the field and how it works in social, political and economic environments. Those basics will be critical later on, when you’re introduced to how the law is involved with business decisions. You’ll also have the chance to mold your communications skills into the business world and apply them into real-life work through an internship.

How is a BBA different than a BS?

While both a BBA and a BS will cover business basics, the core requirements in a BS will be more math-oriented and analytical. Those skills will come in handy if you are looking to pursue a career as an accountant, financial analyst or another role where data analysis is important.

Earning your BBA will help you develop the tools you need to succeed in whichever concentration you choose. A general business BBA will set you up with the basics needed to navigate the business world. Where you take those skills is up to you.
