Application Instructions

Step 1: Create Your Account

It only takes a minute to create an account. You just need your name, email address, home address and a username and password you can remember.

This is how you create an account.

Once you're finished, check your inbox. We'll send you a link to verify your email, and you'll log in with the username and password you created.

This is the verification email you will receive.

Applying to more than one university?

Save time by using Apply Texas to submit all your applications at once. When you're finished, send us your transcripts and test scores so we can get you an admissions decision as quickly as possible.

Step 2: Start Your Application

Before you start: You'll need to have your social security number, a list of all the high schools and colleges you’ve attended and the number of credits you’ve earned.

If you have fewer than 12 credit hours, apply as a freshman.

The application is divided into three pages:

  • Basic information
  • Academic information
  • Background information

You can move through the pages by clicking the "Previous" and "Next" buttons, or you can jump between pages using the links on the left.

This is how you can navigate your admissions application.

The application only takes 10-15 minutes to finish, but if you need to take a break, you can click "logout" to save your work and finish later.

This is what happens when you click "logout" in your application. It saves your work and exits the application.

When you submit your application, if you're missing any information, we'll show you a list of which items you still need to complete. Otherwise, you'll be taken to the self-service center.

Incomplete application notification.

This is the message you receive when you successfully submit your application.

Step 3: Submit Your Transcripts and Test Scores

This one’s important — we can’t give you an application status until we receive these. You can either have your high school send us your transcripts or bring them to us directly — just remember they must be sealed.

If you have more than 30 credit hours:

  • Submit transcripts from any college or university you've attended
  • You do not need to submit test scores

If you have fewer than 30 credit hours:

  • Submit your high school transcript, and a transcript from any college or university you've attended.
  • Submit test scores for the SAT, ACT or THEA exam.

All transcripts and test scores can be mailed to:
