Work Study

What You Need to Know
  • Students who are eligible for work study positions must secure employment as soon as possible. We often have a wait list for students who wish to secure employment. If you do not complete the paperwork or visit Career Services to secure employment, the University will have to recind your work study offer.
  • Anyone eligible for a work study position is not guaranteed employment. Generally, there are more job candidates than there are open positions.
  • Funding is limited and is awarded on a first come first serve basis.
  • It is the student's responsibility to keep records of hours worked and the amounts earned each pay period.
  • Work Study is offered to students based on information received by a completed FAFSA.
  • Students requesting work study should apply for FAFSA before March 1 each year. If selected for verification, all verification information must be received before work study will be offered.
  • Work study is offered on a student financial aid award letter, but does not guarantee employment.
  • Work study is not a payment to student accounts like other financial aid awards.
