Placement Exams

Need to take a placement exam? We can help. You'll need to take your placement exams before your orientation session — that way you'll be ready to sign up for classes.

What are academic placement exams?

Texas Wesleyan University uses placement exams to check your academic skill levels in subjects such as math, English and reading. The results of these scores determine if you need a little more preparation before taking college-level classes.

Could I be exempt from placement exams?

Certain TSI, ACT or SAT scores could exempt you from placement exams. Please submit your scores to your admissions counselor as soon as possible and check out our course placement chart.‌ Questions? Contact our testing coordinator, Richard Jolivette.

How do I schedule my exam?

While campus is closed due to COVID-19, you can meet with your proctor on Zoom and virtually take the Accuplacer placement test. To complete the exam virtually, you'll need:

  • A computer or laptop with a webcam and audio capabilities. Cell phones, iPads, Chromebooks, Surface Tablet or any other tablet will not work.
  • Internet connection.

If you do not have the capability to take the exam virtually, please contact the testing coordinator, Richard Jolivette.

Testing times are Monday through Friday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Sign up below.
