Texas Wesleyan President Frederick G. Slabach recently spoke at Tarrant County College South Campus’ First Week Back event on how Texas Wesleyan is working with TCC to help low-income students receive a college education.

“Texas Wesleyan has a long history of collaboration with TCC,” President Slabach said. “The most recent example is our Smaller. Smarter. Promise Scholarship, which awards free tuition to eligible transfer students who have 42 hours and a B average (or better).”

TCC's First Week Back program brings together local leaders and TCC faculty and staff for a weeklong celebration of commitment to the community. The event takes place the week before TCC students returned to class. This year’s theme was "Power Generation: Fueling the Future, Celebrating Partnerships."

TCC Campus President Peter Jordan welcomed community leaders like Texas Wesleyan Provost Allen Henderson, United Way Vice President of Community Development Sue Matkin, Hydradyne PresidentDavid Parks and Crowley ISD Supt. Dan Powell.
