Rugby Club

Rugby Club

The purpose of the Rugby Club is to promote the sport of Rugby Union through active competition and social activities.

The Rugby Club will:

  • Actively participate in interscholastic rugby competition at the collegiate level
  • Develop male and female teams to represent Texas Wesleyan University at highest level of collegiate rugby competition
  • Develop athletes that represent themselves, Texas Wesleyan University and their community at-large with dignity and honor
  • Provide members with opportunities to develop leadership and management experiences
  • Promote and positively represent Texas Wesleyan University to the community-at-large through Rugby related service projects

The Rugby Club at Texas Wesleyan University supports both male and female teams to compete in the Lone Star Rugby Conference, which is part of the National Small College Rugby Organization and USA Rugby. Our goal is to represent the University in both the traditional (15-a-side) and Olympic (7-a-side) versions of the sport.

Students may belong to the club as team members or as social members who assist in the operational, philanthropic and cultural activities of the organization. Students interested in becoming a member should contact Clarissa Murillo, Club President, CMMurillo@txwes.edu, or Alex McCulloch, Head Coach, TWURugby@PantherCityRugby.com
