OKLAHOMA CITY – Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) honored today an all-time high of 1,388 student-athletes as recipients of the Commissioner's Honor Roll for the 2019-20 academic year. Texas Wesleyan set a school record with 161 student-athletes named to the list.
TXWES topped last year's 149 honor roll winners by 12.
Oklahoma City led with 205, Wayland Baptist placed 163, while the Rams round out the top 3 amongst the 11 full members of the conference. The SAC now has a membership of 21 institutions if at least one sport, including newly introduced full-time member in UNT-Dallas.
The conference named 1,231 student-athletes, setting the conference record set last year at 1,049.
The SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll includes student-athletes at its member institutions competing in an NAIA-recognized sport who maintained a 3.0 grade-point average over the past academic year. The conference surpassed its 2018-19 number of 1,049 and honored more than 1,000 student-athletes for the third consecutive year.
